Wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb

description

Appears when mounting a disk

(base) server123@ubuntu:/media/server123$ sudo mount -t ext4 /dev/sdb /mnt
mount: /mnt: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb, missing codepage or helper program, or other error.

solution

Enter lsblk -f to see if /dev/sdb has a file system format

Found that you need to enter the /dev/sdb1 partition instead of /dev/sdb to mount

Enter the command sudo mount -t ext4 /dev/sdb1 /mnt and mount successfully

After entering the command sudo umount /dev/sdb1 successfully uninstalled
